Southern Indian and Pacific oceans: South Africa, southeastern Australia, New Zealand, and Sala y Gomez Ridge. Pending a comprehensive study of the group, all disjunct southern populations (south of 20?south latitude) are tentatively referred to E. cinereum, the only species name available for the complex.
Biology: Collected from a deep-tidepool; probably lives offshore (Ref. 5275).
