Distribution:
North Pacific: Hokkaido, Japan to south of St. Lawrence Island, Alaska to Agattu Island in the Aleutian chain and Wales Island, British Columbia, Canada.
Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 10 - 12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14 - 17; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 17 – 20. Interorbital space narrow and concave, its width about 1/2 of eye diameter, and covered with bony plates (Ref. 559).
Biology: Deep records for this species is anomalous and must be regarded as questionable (Ref. 6793).
Red List Status: Not in IUCN Red List (Ref. 57073)
