Northwest Pacific: southern Kuril Archipelago.
Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 10 - 10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13 - 14; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 11 – 12; Vertebrae: 32 – 34. No spines on upper posterior margin of orbit, parietal, or posttemporal; a single common opening of terminal mandibular pore just behind symphysis; a slender cirrus on base of nasal spine; uppermost preopercular spine without denticles dorsally; two dorsal scale rows originating under 1st or 2nd spine on first dorsal fin, terminating before posterior end of second dorsal fin base; scales absent on pectoral axilla; first dorsal fin moderate, anterior spines not produced; pelvic fin extending more than one-third distance to origin of anal fin (Ref. 45337).
Biology: Found in a rocky tide pool with seagrass beds (Ref. 45337).
