Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 0 - 0; Anal spines: 0; Vertebrae: 38 – 39. Pre-maxillae toothed, triangular; 1 supra-maxilla; isthmus broadly triangular, pointed anteriorly; W-shaped pelvic scute; vertebrae 38 or 39 (usually 39); silver lateral band becoming narrower and fading anteriorly.
Biology: A pelagic school-forming species found near coral reefs. Feeds on zooplankton.
