Atlantic, Indian and Pacific: in tropical and subtropical waters. Eastern Central Atlantic: known from four stations approximately 09°N to 18°S, unknown from the Benguela Current/Gulf of Guinea area. Known from widely scattered localities extending from off Baja California in the eastern Pacific to the Yucatan Channel in the western central Atlantic.
