Morphology: Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 10; Anal soft rays: 9 – 11
Biology: Inhabit clear streams and rivers with very fast current to more gentle water flow. More numerous in the quieter stretches. Feed mainly on algae and aufwuchs rasped off from stones.
