Biology: |
A short-lived species which typically occurs in springs of constant water temperature and slow current, on sand or gravel with or without vegetation; it may also be found in silty areas, provided that the water remains clear. Feeds on invertebrates. Is threatened due to water abstraction and habitat destruction (Ref. 26100).
