Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 12 - 12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16 - 17; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 13 – 14
Biology: Found exclusively in surge zone of seaward reef margins (Ref. 9710). Occurs in or near Acropora or Pocillopora coral patches (Ref. 1602). It is a solitary territorial herbivore (Ref. 1602).
