Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 9 - 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12 - 13; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 12. Brown in color, paler ventrally, sometimes with indistinct bars; prominent blackish spots along spines and rays of dorsal fins; pelvic fins dusky (Ref. 11441).
Biology: Found on mud or sand bottoms (Ref. 11441).
