Distribution:
Former USSR: known only from the Kuban River and the Laba, its left tributary. It is probably endemic to the Kuban basin.
Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 3 - 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7 - 7; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5; Vertebrae: 41 – 43. Head conical, wide, slightly flattened. Barbel long, reaching beyond posterior edge of eye, caudal peduncle low, epithelial crests on dorsal scales absent; supraorbital seismosensory canal not connected with infraorbital one (Ref. 28796).
