Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 0 - 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11 - 12; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 14 – 16; Vertebrae: 42 – 45. Branchiostegal rays: 17 (Ref. 35839). Anal fin behind end of dorsal fin. Photophores are conspicuous (Ref. 37473).
Biology: Mesopelagic and bathypelagic species. Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 35839).
